A horror adventure through a bizarre setting

Toiletrooms is a free adventure game that was made by indie developer KenForest. In this horror title, players will be exploring a maze filled with toilets. They will need to find their way out of the dark and creepy place, armed with nothing more than a pocket lighter.

Similar to Nun Massacre or Loop86, Toiletrooms is an atmospheric game featuring various frights and chase sequences for players to experience. It was inspired by backroom escape games, as well as taking cues from the classic PS1 for its low-poly graphics and art style.

Toilets from hell

The Backrooms is a 4chan meme of a photo of a yellow room illuminated by fluorescent lights, with no furniture or people to be seen. The wallpaper is mismatched, the carpet has large stains. A divider at the far end hints at another possibly similar room. This bizarre imagery inspired escape games to come out. Toiletrooms is one example, which cranks the creepy and weird factor way up.

Toiletrooms does away with the yellow corridors in favor of toilets, of all things. Equipped with nothing but a pocket lighter, you'll be exploring a dark labyrinth filled with urinals, sinks, and pipes as you find a way out. Of course, it wouldn't be much of a horror game without the creepy atmosphere, and it delivers plenty of it, with the occasional scares and chase sequences for good measure.

The bizarreness extends to the various entities and creatures you'll encounter throughout. Running the risk of spoiling the game, you should just experience and discover it for yourself. If you decide to give it a try, just know that your playthrough will be rather short. Depending on how your pace, you could finish it within a couple of minutes. There's an unlockable second ending, though.

All kinds of weird and creepy

First and foremost, Toiletrooms is a game that is definitely not for everyone. It's bizarre, creepy, and even borderline gross at times. If you do decide to give it a go, you will be in for quite a different type of horror adventure experience. If you have played The Backrooms game already, this will be a unique take on that.
